Hi, I'm Jenna (AKA Wiggles) !!! Today we saw dolphins while working out.  And they were really close! A huge wave almost crashed on top of me.  We try to focus, but when we see a guy meditating on the beach, it is kind of hard to stay focused (he is AKA Dolphin Whisperer).  I am having a lot of fun in Virginia, even though at times training is hard, the workouts can be fun.  Dinner is fun, especially when water comes out Maksim's nose and finding out Hannah almost fell off a roller coaster.  Then heading to Hannah and Jillian's room, hearing that Veronica fell on her face during axels.  I already have many stories to tell and hope many more to come!  Looking forward to the boardwalk tomorrow... Bye!

Sydney's Thoughts

Everyday we work out in Virginia, we do it 3 times a day and everyone is always sore.  Sometimes we work in teams.  Today it was "Hussle for the Muscle" and "No Pain, No Gain".  The "no Pain, No Gain" group won today.  The winning team gets a manicure with something special, but everyone gets a manicure.  Virginia is very fun, right now the manicure is happening and everyone is picking out their nail polish.  They are also talking.  We are leaving in a few days, Virginia is very fun!

Memories

06/11/2014 16:53

This is not a vacation that many people would choose….laundry, cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping for 24 people!  However, the moms manage to make it through one day at a time.  It has been great to see the kids challenge themselves and encourage each other during the workouts each day. We (moms) are excited to see them in action on the ice because we know there will be an improvement in strength and endurance. The camp goes beyond the physical training for the kids and the housework for the moms; there are friendships being formed and memories being made.  I am thankful that I have been able to come to this camp with my daughter for the last 3 years. I hope there are many more years of camp yet to come.

Thanks for the memories.

Paige's View

06/11/2014 13:59

Hi! Paige here. I've had an awesome week so far here at Virginia Beach. It started off really tough, but I feel like I am getting stronger every day. My favorite part of the workout is the running, especially running barefoot by the sea. I also love when we go swimming. I was super sore at the beginning, but now I've gotten used to it. The food here is awesome, especially the steaks. We have had a couple of fun outings, like the shops and Busch Gardens. At BG, I went on the Griffon, a rollercoaster, for the first time and it was amazing! And in a few days we get to go to the boardwalk, where I can buy souveniers and get ice cream! All in all, I've had a great time.

Hi, everyone!  Lauryn and Ava here!  Be sure to look at our new pictures in the photogallery!  We work out three times each day and always want more friends.  The food is great to eat after every workout.  The house is big and across the street from the beach.  Last night, we went shopping at the junk store.  This week we have teams and which ever team earns the most points gets a prize at the end of the day.  The name of our team today is "We Don't Sweat, We Sparkle."  The other team's name is, "Kiss My Abs."  So far it is a tie today.  We are having fun with our friends between each workout and laughing during the workout.

I am Savanna Rahman (a.k.a noodles or granny waffle).Today was kind of hard but the last practice was the hardest because we had to sprint to the burnt piece of wood then to the volleyball court ,but you only ran about 50% of your speed. We had to do that four times and two sets The rest of the excersises were pretty normal. The other workouts we did twelve minutes and thirteen minutes. But enough about workouts lets talk about the house... ITS CRAZY AND FUN!

This week has gone by very fast! this is my third year going and I absolutly love it. I have made so many memories and made many friends here. Today we had only 2 workouts, but the first practice we had a 20 minute run out and sprint back to the tent. It was really hard but we made it through practice! This last night we went to Cold Stone and then the park! Cold Stone was super fun and was very yummy! I can't wait to go to Busch Gardens tomorrow... tallk to you guys soon! bye bye!

Virginia beach has been a blast this year! This is my 4th year going to the camp and I have made so many great memories! It is fun swimming in the ocean and hanging out in the house. I met some really cool people this year and it has been a challege during the workouts but we all did our best and made it through. This year has been exciting and I've been busy doing lots of fun things! We have accomplished a lot this year and have been trying new things. I'm looking forward to doing more activities and getting stronger in the workouts. Virginia beach has been very fun and I've enjoyed it all.

Breakfast with Alexander

06/05/2014 08:30

My name is Alexander, and I am a figure skating coach from Oslo, Norway. I brought two participants for the camp with me, Juni & Vanessa.

I know Alexei from Odessa, Ukraine. Alexei coached me for a short time before he moved to the U.S.  I also worked with Valentin in Ukraine when I was a young skater.  I have lived in Norway for 8 years now, and I work for the Oslo Skating Club.  One of the oldest skating clubs in the world, where Sonja Henie trained.

This is my first time to join Alexei and Valentin in the Virginia beach camp. The training here is very productive and the skaters have improved greatly during the last week. The skaters acheived greater physical & technical condition before starting the new season. Juni is a member of the Norwegian national skating team and is qualified to compete in the Courchevel, France Jr. Grand Prix held in Tallinn, Estland at the end of August.

The camp is extremely organized and I Iike the schedule and the food.  The menu is very good and healthy for athletes in training. The support team is key to making the camp work.  Without them the camp couldn't exist. I would like to give a big thanks to all the moms for their hard work.

I would like to bring more skaters to the Virginia Beach camp in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Alexander
